Death of the early adopter?

I love the price drop on the iPhone. Apple is being extremely aggressive, and that’s fantastic. However, this move isn’t just screwing the competition. It’s screwing the important existing customers: the early adopters. We’re not going to see lines outside the Apple Store again for new products (which creates buzz). The early adopters will, in the future, be waiting for a price drop. Without them, future product launches will be harder – tech always gets cheaper, but it also relies on the early adopters. I hope Apple can throw the early adopters a bone here.First time I’ve emailed Steve Jobs.UPDATE: Apple responded to the thousands of emails they received, and are offering up $100 coupons to the Apple Store. That’s a very reasonable, and fast, response. Well done, Apple.
